We’ve saved the best for last! GAT is thrilled to announce GAT USA - a brand-new hybrid tour set in the heart of America’s equestrian paradise: Ocala, Florida. 

Running October 24 – November 3, this is your chance to train and compete in one of the world’s top equestrian destinations – all under the expert guidance of international Grand Prix rider and viral sensation, Ronny Riemer, aka The German Riding Instructor.

 

The love of horses is deeply ingrained in the tapestry of American culture, and nowhere is this passion more evident than in Ocala, Florida – often dubbed the Horse Capital of the World. 

Whether you're focused on improving your hunter or jumper skills, this GAT experience caters to all levels, offering exceptional riding instruction on top-quality sport horses at some of the finest facilities in Ocala. 

Riders will receive daily training with Ronny Riemer, an accomplished international Grand Prix show jumper and widely recognized as “The German Riding Instructor,” and participate in a three-day competition. You will also have the opportunity to attend the Ocala International Horse Show, take stable tours, and expand your equestrian knowledge through seminars led by industry experts.

Not only will you be training and competing in a world-class venue, but there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities on offer in this incredibly vibrant country. Think Universal Studios, kayaking, and wildlife tours at Silver Springs State Park, canyon zip lining, championship golf courses and so much more!

About the tour

 

The trainer - Ronny Riemer

Ronny Riemer, widely recognized as “The German Riding Instructor,” is an accomplished Grand Prix show jumper and equestrian trainer with over two decades of experience in the sport horse industry.

 

Originally from Germany, Ronny honed his skills under renowned figures such as Franke Sloothaak and Paul Schockemöhle, establishing a solid foundation in European riding techniques.

 

His career has spanned various parts of Europe and North America, allowing him to blend European and American riding styles to suit individual horse and rider combinations.

 

In 2015, Ronny, alongside his wife Chanel, founded RCR Equestrian Inc., a training and sales operation based in Ocala, Florida.

 

Beyond his professional endeavors, Ronny has gained widespread recognition through his online persona, “The German Riding Instructor.” Through humorous and insightful videos, he shares his extensive knowledge of riding while providing lighthearted commentary on various aspects of the equestrian world. This unique approach has endeared him to a broad audience, making him a sought-after clinician and speaker at equestrian events.

 

Ronny’s teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of rider balance, effective communication with the horse, and minimizing unnecessary interference to allow the horse to perform optimally. He advocates for riders to maintain a forward rhythm and avoid micromanaging, enabling horses to do their jobs more effectively. Through his blend of expertise, humor, and a genuine passion for the sport, Ronny Riemer continues to significantly contribute to the equestrian community, inspiring riders and enthusiasts alike. 

The facilities: 

The training stable is located just 15 minutes from Ocala, Florida. Spanning 110 acres of serene land, Diasti Stables’ stunning Spanish-style architecture and beautiful atmosphere create an unmatched experience in the equestrian community. Their facilities offer an unparalleled environment for both horse and rider and features:​

  • 110 acres of hacking and trails 

  • A large covered pavilion 

The location:

Home to over 400 thoroughbred farms and the largest equestrian center in the United States of America,  it's easy to see why this is known as the “Horse Capital of the World.  But there is so much more to do in this Florida city, from art museums to state parks.

 

Silver Springs State Park allows visitors to hike through lush trails, paddle along serene waterways, and embark on mesmerizing glass-bottom boat tours. This area is renowned for its crystal-clear springs, abundant wildlife, and rich history, so whether you are an outdoor enthusiast, a wildlife lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Silver Springs has something for everyone.

The Accommodation: 

The Riding Academy Hotel is a stylish, premium hotel located within the prestigious World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. Designed for equestrians and spectators alike, the hotel offers unparalleled convenience with direct access to world-class competitions, luxurious amenities, and a vibrant social scene. The logistics: 

The base package includes hotel-style accommodation in a standard twin-share room (single and superior options available at additional cost) 

 

Our tour Chef d'equipe will assist the selected riders throughout the trip and the GAT team and our official travel partners provide administrative support with flights, accommodation, insurance etc before the event. 

Supporters and spectators: 

As with all GAT tours, riders are welcome to bring official supporters to share in the experience. Supporters enjoy the same fully-concierged itinerary—just without the riding component. Riders can easily add supporters when completing their application.

For GAT USA, we’re also offering a limited number of spectator spots. So even if you’re not travelling with a rider, you can still join the excitement and experience everything this incredible tour has to offer in Florida.

  • The price includes, accommodation, some meals (daily breakfast, welcome, and farewell dinner), horse lease, horse transport, training competition entry, stabling, some sightseeing activities, venue transfers, and accompanying Chef d'equipe. 

  • The price excludes flights, airport transfers and travel insurance. 

  • This cost is based on current charges and exchange rates and is an estimate only.

Terms and conditions:
  • Any riders under 18 at the time of the tour need to be accompanied by a guardian over 18

  • A full list of tour terms and conditions can be provided on request, this will form part of your pre-travel documentation to be signed before departure
